Remedials for UK fire safety contractors
Remedials start at the inspection
Remedials get lost after inspections. The defect goes back to the office as a free-text note, sits in a queue, and by the time anyone prices it the moment has gone. FLOS raises the defect from the inspection itself, with its severity and its remedy attached.
What FLOS does with defects today
- Defects are captured against the failed clause, not as free text. Severity is derived from what was breached, so a critical failure cannot be downgraded by whoever logged it.
- An inspection will not submit if a failure that needs photographic evidence does not have it.
- The remedy is specified from your own parts and labour catalogue at the point of failure.
- Five severity bands, from emergency to advisory.
- Open defects stay on the asset with the job that found them and how long they have been open, so the next visit starts with them in view.
- A certificate will not issue while a critical defect is open. No override, for anyone, including you.
Why the evidence matters more than the quote
Turning a defect into a quote is not new, and other systems do it. FLOS starts a step earlier. The defect is created by the inspection, tied to the clause and the photo that prove it, and the certificate is held while a critical stays open. When a client asks why the work is needed, the answer is already on the record.
